Can you redesign an inn in a modern way without losing its down-to-earth feel?
 

This question came to my mind recently. So I just tried it out without further ado.

Step 1: Find an inn on Google Maps. Searched, found. The Knusperhaus (aka gingerbread house).

Step 2: The concept
Earthy dark colors, a relatively simple sans serif font and handmade illustrations. 

 

Step 3: designing

We implemented what we set out in the concept. The Knusperhaus became an illustration, the lettering became a logo and the inn became a brand.
